AML & Security Team Leader

We are looking for an AML & Security Team Leader for our AML & Security department. In this role, you will lead a team of six specialists in the fields of Transaction Monitoring, KYC/CDD and Security Affairs. You will combine subject-matter expertise with a coaching leadership style and play a key role in the further development of both the team and the field within Argenta.Your challenge
Together with your team, you will ensure that risks relating to customer integrity, financial crime and security matters are identified, managed and reported in a timely manner. You will act as a subject-matter expert for senior management, the compliance team and other stakeholders, and actively contribute to the further professionalisation of the AML and security function within Argenta. In doing so, you will, of course, ensure first and foremost that you yourself remain constantly up to date with developments in legislation and regulations.What will you do?
Policy development and advice
- Developing, improving and implementing policies, processes, procedures and work instructions.
- Translating strategic objectives into concrete operational measures.
- Contributing to the CDD Awareness Programme and raising awareness within the organisation.
- Advising senior management on the feasibility and further development of AML and security policies.
CDD Reviews and Customer Integrity
- Assessing and analysing complex client files.
- Drawing up proposals for risk classifications and appropriate control measures.
- Preparing and facilitating decision-making within the Customer Integrity Committee.
- Assessing client files against internal and external CDD standards and regulations.
Transaction monitoring
- Investigating and assessing complex transaction monitoring alerts.
- Identifying risks and taking appropriate follow-up action.
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders, customers and intermediaries.
Watchlists and security matters
- Assessing and following up on alerts from sanctions lists, PEP hits, negative media coverage, VIS, EVA and other external sources.
- Handling requests from law enforcement agencies and FIU-related matters.
- Initiate control measures and prepare reports where necessary.
- Work closely with Compliance and other relevant departments.
Projects and changes
- Leading or participating in projects.
- Contribute to improvement initiatives in the areas of onboarding, transaction monitoring and customer reviews.
- Work with the programme manager and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of changes within the field.
Collaboration with outsourcing partners
- Check whether external partners are operating in accordance with the agreed quality standards, legislation and regulations, and contractual agreements.
- Identifying areas for improvement and monitoring their implementation.
- Contributing to efficient and high-quality service delivery and implementations.
Knowledge development
- Keep up to date with developments in AML, KYC/CDD and security matters.
- Actively sharing knowledge within the team and the organisation.
- Contribute to the further professionalisation of the department.
What are you bringing with you?
- University-level work and thinking.
- At least 3 to 5 years’ managerial experience in a CDD, KYC or AML environment.
- Hands-on experience with AML, transaction monitoring, KYC/CDD and/or security matters.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including the Wwft, Wft and PIFI.
- Experience in stakeholder management and liaising at various levels.

What does Argenta offer?
- A gross monthly salary of between €5,675 and €7,093, depending on your knowledge and experience.
- A 36.5-hour working week.
- 204.4 holiday hours and 21.9 ADV hours per year.
