Manager Sustainability Compliance & Assurance

The role

As Manager Sustainability Compliance & Assurance, you are ultimately responsible for the sustainability domain within trading activities in the Benelux (with possible expansion).
You will manage a team of around 11 FTEs (including 7 direct reports), consisting of team leads and analysts. Together, you are responsible for, among other things:

• GHG calculations and allocations
• Proof of sustainability
• Compliance around biofuels and renewables
• Ensuring correct and complete documentation prior to sale

You ensure that products are only traded when they fully comply with the applicable regulations and parameters. In doing so, you work closely with the commercial trading business.
This role goes beyond reporting: you are constantly translating complex and changing regulations into concrete, operational decisions.

What will you do

• Managing and further developing the sustainability & compliance team
• Ensuring correct and complete sustainability reporting
• Implementing and monitoring (constantly changing) European regulations
• Sparring with trading and commercial teams on regulatory applicability
• Stakeholder management towards internal and external parties (including authorities and European bodies)
• Managing risks (compliance has direct financial impact)

Your profile

You are substantively strong on sustainability and compliance, but also understand how a commercial environment works.
In addition, you bring:

• Fluent command of Dutch
• Experience manager sustainability compliance, preferably within energy, trading or oil & gas
• Knowledge of GHG calculations, reporting and/or assurance
• Experience with European laws and regulations and stakeholder management (including towards Brussels)
• Ability to translate regulations into practice
• Comfort with a dynamic environment where rules change regularly

Employment conditions

• Salary: €140,000 - €170,000 gross per year, depending on experience

• Bonus scheme (circa 16-22%)
