Risk Analyst (2nd line)

Do you want to be more closely involved in the business than simply “ticking compliance boxes”? Do you have 2–5 years’ experience and want to really understand what drives an organisation and where the risks and opportunities lie? If so, this is a role where you’ll make an impact quickly. 

What will you do? 

This role is all about looking ahead, analysing and advising. You will help the organisation to manage itself more effectively by identifying risks and formulating concrete improvement measures. You will work closely with management and the business, and will constantly be addressing questions such as: 

• Where do the greatest risks to growth and performance lie? 
• Are our assumptions still valid? 
• And where can we manage things more effectively? 

Your responsibilities 

• Identifying and analysing risks (operational, financial and strategic) and translating these into clear recommendations 
• Working alongside management and the business to explore how risks can be managed more effectively 
• Improving and further developing the risk framework (e.g. risk assessments, controls and monitoring) 
• Discussing risk assessments with stakeholders in relation to new initiatives and investments 
• Investigating incidents and trends, and ensuring that the organisation learns from them 
• Contributions to reports for management (short, concise and to the point) 
• Help build an organisation where risk awareness is second nature 

Compliance is, of course, part of the role, but always approached from a risk-driven and pragmatic perspective. 

The environment 

• You will be joining a small, international organisation (around 30 colleagues) within the GPN. This means: 
• Flat hierarchies and a high degree of responsibility 
• Significant exposure to senior stakeholders

Who are we looking for? 

• We’re looking for someone who not only understands the rules, but above all wants to understand how the business works. 
• 2–5 years’ experience in risk, audit, compliance or finance 
• HBO/WO degree (e.g. Finance, Economics, Risk, Business) 
• Fluent in Dutch and English 
• Strong analytical skills and a keen sense of curiosity: you want to know what’s really going on 
• Strong communication skills: you’re not afraid to ask questions and contribute ideas
